To Whom It May Concern...
I type this with numb fingers, hoping the desperate tapping of keys will free my hands of their glacial confinement. But really, should I even complain? If I were living in the Arctic, this may be a reasonable concern. However, it seems that when those more fortunate to live in the warmer areas of the globe are suddenly faced with the dropping temperatures of an approaching winter, a comfortable 60˚F with a few gusts of wind whipping through their hair seems like a blizzard in the middle of a Russian December. Maybe not everyone complains. I'm sure there are a fair amount of people out there who live in areas where they suffer from both blazing hot summers and unbearably cold winters, and I give you props for having such strength. I admire you. While I shiver in this 62˚F autumn evening, swaddling myself in blankets like some overgrown baby, I will keep reminding myself that out there, someone is laughing at me right now. Laugh away. I deserve it.
Now with those thoughts out of the way, I wanted to introduce myself to everyone and clue you into the plans I have for this blog. I'm an aspiring writer hoping to be a published author, I do pencil portraits, and I am hoping to snag a spot in the film industry as a director, writer, or cinematographer. Yes, I know. Some of you may think I'm screwed already, but I'm following through with this. I can't sit in a cubicle all day answering phones. I just can't. I get antsy. I'm one of those people that need to be moving around, and––I'm gonna say it––you only live once. I'm pretty sure I just established my own group of haters, but it's really how I feel. If I want to do something for the rest of my life, I'd rather be poor and happy than rich and bored out of my mind. Now, the purpose of this blog will be to direct more attention to my stories and get some feedback because they're still in the editing process and I would really love some opinions. Although, I don't know exactly when I'll be posting the links to the website I have them on. In the meantime, I'll be practicing writing short stories on here, expressing some opinions on a few things, and maybe even writing reviews as a friend of mine began doing on her own blog. The name I chose for my blog is odd. I get it. But it has a meaning––I swear. "Into the Wild" seemed like a great title because the "wild" is just something we like to call unexplored territory. And every time you let your imagination take you places, well it isn't exactly a place you've gone to before. But you can sculpt it; you can make it your own. Thus, the name "Into the Wild." In each story I make, I want my readers to have the experience of being drawn into a completely different world while having the sense that it could be real. And as I build these stories, I get lost in the world I've created. So, each time I let my imagination flow, I go "into the wild" and see what I can find.
